FAQs

  1. Am I registered with the Care Quality Commission? – According to the scope of registration under the Health and social care Act 2008 (July 2012) I am excempt under section 2 Excemptions without a time limit. I am covered under the individual budgets, individual trust users and self funded personal care or nursing care. This states that ‘Where a person, or a related third party on their behalf, makes their own arrangement for nursing or personal care, and the nurse or carer works directly for them and under their control without an agency or employer involved in managing or directing care provided, the nurse or carer does not need to register for that regulated activity’.
  2. Do I offer ‘on the spot’ inspections? – I do not offer on the spot inspections without appointment. The reason for this is simply because I may have a young adult with me, whom I need to prepare for a visit from someone who is not known to them. I also need to be aware of who is entering the property, and why, to protect the young adult. Finally there is always the possibility that we are out having fun accessing activities in the wider community. However, I can arrange a visit within a short time of your call. Parents of young adults staying with me are the exception to this, and they are welcome to make an ‘on the spot’ visit at any time.
